Effective teaching goes beyond delivering content. It challenges students to think critically, analyze real-world situations, and make informed decisions. In line with this approach, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ hosted a half-day Case Teaching Workshop in the ODEL Conference Hall, bringing together academic staff for a practical and engaging professional development session to enhance teaching excellence.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ conducted a Competency-Based Assessment Training aimed at strengthening the quality and effectiveness of teaching practice, community service learning, and education resource project assessment within the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ has commenced a two-day Pedagogy Training programme for newly appointed academic staff, organized by the Directorate of Excellence in Learning and Teaching (DELT). The training, taking place from February 5–6, 2026, is designed to equip new faculty members with effective teaching competencies aligned with the University’s academic philosophy and Kenya’s evolving higher education reforms.

A renewed focus on Competency-Based Education (CBE) is taking centre stage as academic staff designated as CBE Champions participate in a three-day intensive training aimed at strengthening curriculum implementation across the institution. Organized by the Directorate of Excellence in Learning and Teaching (DELT), the programme brings together faculty members from various disciplines to deepen their capacity for effective CBE delivery in higher education, in alignment with national and global education reforms.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ, through the Directorate of Excellence in Learning and Teaching (DELT), has commenced a four-day mandatory training for all teaching staff. The training, which began on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the University Auditorium, is designed to equip faculty with essential skills in ICT integration, competency-based education (CBE), and e-learning module development.

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ has officially concluded a high-impact Competency-Based Education (CBE) training program for its academic staff an initiative spearheaded by the Directorate of Excellence in Learning and Teaching (DELT) under the dynamic leadership of Prof. Gladys Kiptiony. Held over several days, the training equipped faculty members with modern pedagogical tools to enhance learner-centered instruction and align curriculum delivery with industry and societal needs. The closing session, held this evening, was graced by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat, alongside Deputy Vice-Chancellors Prof. John Ochola (Academic and Research) and Prof. Ronald Chepkilot (Finance and Administration).
