It is indeed a great joy and privilege to address you today and make you welcome to <b>ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ the home at the top! </b> The name of our university is derived from two Tugen words: <b> ka </b> meaning home and <b> barak </b> meaning top. This was definitely a prophetic name given to a village in Sacho, Baringo County, where the late Second President of Kenya and <b>Founder</b> of this great university, His Excellency Daniel Toroitich Arap Moi, was born in 1924. He rose to become the President of the Republic of Kenya for 24 years and founded this treasured university in <b>October 2000</b>. Indeed, Job 8:7 declares that a modest beginning will be followed by great prosperity if one seeks the Lord diligently.</p>
