CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS: Blog symposium on the African Youth Charter /kup/cfc-klrb /kup/cfc-klrb

2 July 2006 marked a significant year in the African continent as the date of adoption of the African Youth Charter. This year, 2026, we mark twenty (20) years since the adoption of the African Youth Charter. This is an achievement for a continent that is the youngest in the world, with a median age of approximately 19 years. Over the past two decades, the Charter has provided a common vision that has aimed to promote youth rights and development across Africa. Additionally, it has helped shape national youth policies and pushed governments and partners to invest in the development of sustainable youth projects.

SECTION CALL FOR CONTRIBUTIONS: Honouring Our Elders: Conversations with the Living-Dead /kup/cfc-klr-26 /kup/cfc-klr-26

Every society is built on borrowed time. We live in spaces shaped by people we rarely pause to acknowledge, walking in the shadows of those who came before us. Yet as the world moves on, elders, presumed to be the carriers of memory and wisdom, are often overlooked as life rushes forward. As a result, we end up taking for granted the courage and foresight that built our civilisation. Why should we honour our elders? Because without them, we would not be who we are. They carried the burdens, built the spaces we now live in and taught us lessons we cannot learn from books. To honour them is to remember where we come from, and to learn what it takes to keep moving forward. From its very first issue, Kabarak Law Review has contributed to this task of keeping alive the memory of our elders in the Honour your elders section.
