Strengthening Ethical Research Oversight Through Capacity Building

The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Directorate of Research, Innovation and Outreach recently conducted a focused training for members of the Institutional Scientific Ethics Review Committee (ISERC) aimed at strengthening its capacity in protocol review processes and reinforcing adherence to current ethical standards and best practices in research.

Building a Culture of Ethical Research at ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Insights from the Ongoing NACOSTI Training

The National Commission for Science, Technology, and Innovation (NACOSTI) continues to play a pivotal role in safeguarding the integrity of research across Kenya. As the body responsible for promoting ethical standards in science and research, NACOSTI remains committed to strengthening the capacity of Institutional Scientific and Ethics Review Committees (ISERCs) and individual researchers through targeted training programs.

Scientific and Ethics Review Training for ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ teaching staff

The Scientific and Ethics Review Training for all teaching staff held at the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ auditorium was organized by the University Institutional Scientific and Ethics Review Committee (ISERC) to enhance the understanding and practice of ethical considerations in research among its teaching staff. The training focused on various aspects of ethical research, aiming to equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to conduct research with integrity and in adherence to high ethical standards.

Call for Reviewers for Research Ethics

The ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Research Ethics is accredited by National Commission for Science Technology and Innovation (NACOSTI) to conduct ethics reviews in the area of Biomedical, Environmental, and Social Sciences. To effectively discharge this mandate, the Research Ethics is calling upon qualified applicants to submit their documents for training in areas of Ethics. The suitable applicants will be vetted by the University Ethics Board.
